A FAMILY HISTORY
Welcome to the very 1st winter sports store in Méribel, opened in 1947 by a passionate couple: Maurice Front and his wife Madeleine, herself a member of the French ski team at the Cortina d’Ampezzo Olympics in 1956.
In the 1980s, Alain and Bernard Front took over from their parents and brought the store into the modern era of skiing.
Three generations of mountain lovers later, Sport Boutique remains a veritable institution in Méribel, managed today by Valentin and Émeric Front.

- 1947 Construction and opening of the first Sport Boutique in Méribel by Maurice and his brother Eugène FRONT, creation of the operating company “Méribel Sports”
- 1956 Participation of Madeleine FRONT, wife of Maurice, in the VII Olympic Winter Games in Cortina d’Ampezzo 24th in women’s downhill and 14th in women’s giant
- 1965 Acquisition of shares in Eugène et Maurice by Madeleine FRONT
- 1975 Opening of the “Madeleine Front Sports” store on the Morel plateau
- 1977 First victory for Bernard Front, son of Madeleine and Maurice at the instructor challenge followed by 4 consecutive victories (1979/1980/1981/1982)
- 1978 Bernard Front leaves for the USA to participate in the world professional ski championship for 2 winter seasons
- 1979 Bernard Front consecrated World Ski Instructor Champion
- 1979 Takeover of “Méribel Sports” by Alain and Bernard FRONT, sons of Madeleine and Maurice, creation of “Sport Boutique”
- 1992 Hosting of the XVI Olympic Winter Games in Albertville, Maurice FRONT appointed representative of the resort mayors on the organizing committee
- 2019 Appointment of Valentin and Emeric FRONT, respectively sons of Alain and Bernard as General Manager to continue the family adventure
- 2020 Resumption of the Superski and Skishop stores in Mottaret and opening of the Hévana***** residence store
- 2021 Appointment of Bernard as chairman of the organizing committee of the Courchevel-Méribel 2023 world ski championships
- 2022 Opening of the Antares skiroom
- 2024 Sale of company shares for the benefit of Valentin and Emeric FRONT who continue the family adventure as the 3rd generation
